Taking Flight

This is one of the most exciting artworks featuring San Clemente that I have ever had the pleasure to paint. Creating it involved all my senses, several visits to the location, and bold planning, drawing and painting. My goal was to inspire the viewer to hear the waves, feel the mist, and see the bird flying under the pilings.
