Cottons After Sunset

This is mostly a monochromatic painting, with the blue hues and soft edges suggesting a peaceful sunset at the beach in San Clemente, CA. Horizontals evoke a feeling of stability and order. I wanted to create a painting that said simply, "All is right with the world."

This painting was selected for the California Art Club's "The Golden State" Exhibition, at the Old Mill Gallery in San Marino CA, beginning January 2020. It was also displayed at the 2019 Plein Air Convention in San Francisco.
